25 July – 8 August 2026 – For the first time in history, Amsterdam will host WorldPride. WorldPride is a global event that promotes international visibility and awareness of LGBTQIA+ issues.
With over 180 nationalities, Amsterdam is the most diverse city in the world. Our strong and vibrant LGBTQIA+ community gives the city its unique atmosphere of freedom, creativity, and tolerance.
In 2001, the world’s first same-sex marriage was performed here. In 2026, we will celebrate 25 years of marriage equality — a milestone that is still far from self-evident in many parts of the world.
