Bears Amsterdam

Bears Amsterdam is the city's first dedicated bear bar, focused on the bear community within the LGBTQ+ scene. This subculture includes larger, often hairier men and their admirers. The bar opened in May 2025, taking over the location of The Web, a well-known gay cruising bar that had been part of Amsterdam's nightlife for 39 years. The upstairs darkroom features cabins, glory holes and slings, creating a private and playful atmosphere. Regular events such as the monthly “Bereborrel” (Bear Social), BLUF Sunday Socials, “Slutfaming” and “Queer Cumedy Night” foster a strong sense of community.
